Mention of the biggest forest fire

On August 26, 1992 the forest complex of Rudy Raciborskie Districts, Rudziniec and Kedzierzyn-Koźle experienced the largest forest fire in modern European history, as a result of which over 10 thousand hectares of forest was burned, and three people lost their lives. The fire fighting lasted for a week. 9,062 hectares of forest was burnt in three forest districts: Rudy Raciborskie, Rudziniec and Kedzierzyn - Kozle while, in the Province of Katowice 6212 hectares were burnt.
